In No Other Land volgen we Basel Adra, een jonge Palestijnse activist uit Masafer Yatta op de Westelijke Jordaanoever, die al sinds zijn jeugd strijdt tegen de massale verdrijving van zijn gemeenschap door de Israëlische autoriteiten. Hij documenteert de verwoesting van dorpen in zijn regio, waar Israëlische soldaten geleidelijk huizen slopen en bewoners verdrijven. Op zeker moment ontmoet hij Yuval, een Israëlische journalist, en er ontstaat een onwaarschijnlijke vriendschap tussen hen. Hoewel Yuval Basel steunt in zijn inspanningen, wordt hun band onder druk gezet door de enorme ongelijkheid: Basel leeft onder militaire bezetting, terwijl Yuval vrij en zonder beperkingen kan reizen.

No Other Land, gemaakt door een vierkoppig Palestijns-Israëlisch collectief, fungeert als een daad van creatief verzet en streeft naar gerechtigheid in het aanhoudende conflict. De documentaire ging begin 2024 in wereldpremière op het filmfestival van Berlijn en is inmiddels op verschillende internationale festivals te zien geweest. Impressive must-see documentary about the residents of the West Bank, filmed by a young Palestinian and his Israeli friend.

In No Other Land we follow Basel Adra, a young Palestinian activist from Masafer Yatta on the West Bank, who since his youth has been fighting against the mass expulsion of his community by the Israeli authorities. He documents the destruction of villages in his region, where Israeli soldiers are gradually demolishing homes and driving out residents. At one point he meets Yuval, an Israeli journalist, and an unlikely friendship develops between them. Although Yuval supports Basel in his efforts, their bond is strained by the huge inequality: Basel lives under military occupation, while Yuval can travel freely and without restrictions.

No Other Land, made by a four-person Palestinian−Israeli collective, functions as an act of creative resistance and strives for justice in the ongoing conflict. The documentary had its world premiere at the Berlin International Film Festival in early 2024 and has since been shown at various international festivals.
