The Jacket is een portret van Jamal Hindawi, een Palestijnse man die met zijn familie in ballingschap leeft in het vluchtelingenkamp van Shatila in Beiroet, Libanon. Samen met zijn vrienden maakt hij politiek theater over hun diepe verbondenheid met hun thuisland, Palestina, en hun situatie als vluchtelingen in het land waarin ze geboren zijn, Libanon. Wanneer Jamal een reis onderneemt om een verloren theaterrekwisiet terug te vinden, ziet hij hoe de opeenvolgende politieke en economische crises een hele regio en haar bevolking hebben ontwricht.

The Jacket is a portrait of Jamal Hindawi, a Palestinian man living in exile with his family in the Shatila refugee camp in Beirut, Lebanon. Together with his friends, he creates political theatre about their deep connection to their homeland, Palestine, and their situation as refugees in the country where they were born, Lebanon. When Jamal goes on a journey to find a lost theatre prop, he sees how successive political and economic crises have disrupted an entire region and its people.
