“‘Heart-stopping thriller and a superior film debut”
Heart-stopping thriller that takes place entirely at a single location, an emergency dispatch centre. Demoted police officer Asger Holm is sitting here bored, answering the telephone. Then a call comes in from Iben, a young woman who it seems has been abducted.
A standard procedure is in place but for a police officer who is used to the streets it isn’t enough. Asger pulls out all the stops to save the woman. A riveting mystery unfolds that draws us, the audience, into the emergency dispatch centre alongside Asger.
What a superior film debut! It is a rare achievement for a film to build tension this well and sustain it when the action is confined to a single space. Den Skyldige (The Guilty) was the major hit at International Film Festival Rotterdam and won the Audience Award. Similarly, at the Sundance Film Festival the thriller enthralled audiences more than any other film.
