Winner Grand Jury Prize (Sundance Film Festival 2015). Locked away from society in an apartment on the Lower East Side of Manhattan, the Angulo brothers learn about the outside world through the films that they watch. Nicknamed, ‘The Wolfpack,’ the brothers spend their childhood reenacting their favorite films using elaborate homemade props and costumes. Their world is shaken up when one of the brothers escapes and everything changes.

This amazing movie tells the story of six talented, liberal-minded brothers who grow up isolated within the walls of a New York apartment, watching thousands of movies and re-enacting many of the scenes through the years.
Mother is a certified teacher who could home-school the children. The decision to lock up the children was made by their father, who wanted to protect them against the evils of New York, as he perceives it. He gave them more than 5000 films to watch – the only thing that made their lives tolerable and kept them going. The growing brothers continuously reconstruct and re-enact scenes using elaborate homemade props and costumes. Their portrayal of scenes from films such as Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction and The Grand Budapest Hotel are marvellous. As are their first journeys of discovery into New York, which they undertake together and on which they comment from the perspective of their movie-based world view.
