Energetic autobiographical film with an imaginative power that is both enchanting and sensual, all about life and its beauty
Alejandro Jodorowsky (now 87) has enjoyed a wide-ranging artistic career, starting in the 1950s. After ‘La Danza de la Realidad’ (2014), Poesía Sin Fin is the second part of his autobiographical film series, intended ultimately to consist of five parts.
The young Jodorowsky decides to become a poet. He is introduced into the artistic, Bohemian circles of Santiago and meets other promising talents: The later masters of Latin American literature. They are seeking beauty in the world, in others and themselves. They are living as though life were one great poetic experiment: sensual, authentic and free.
Poesía Sin Fin is full of beautiful, surprising visual gems, in which song, dance, music, literature and painting coalesce. This spawns an energetic, passionate cross-fertilisation of life, art and magic. At its heart, this is a sensitive, highly personal story about how Jodorowsky discovered himself as an artist and would never become the person his tyrannical father wanted him to be.
