Share the Seed: staging research Based on work done in a village bordering Lake Kivu, in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the documentary addresses food security in rural areas, specifically looking into the spread of new technologies – in this case, new seed varieties and agricultural techniques. Using forum theatre techniques, interviews, and improvised skits the film delves into how cultural norms and social relationships affect access to these precious resources.
Consuming the Future As consumers we have gotten accustomed to an enormous array of fresh vegetables at our disposal throughout the year. But how many of us know where these vegetables come from, how and by whom these were produced and with what socio-environmental consequences? The film analyses these questions with the fresh vegetable production sector in the state of Guanajuato, Mexico. It shows the dynamics that have spurred vegetable production and the consequences that the intensive use of groundwater has on the rural communities.
